The newest B&G Milkyway opens this week in southeast Sioux Falls.

The location on the northeast corner of 69th Street and Cliff Avenue has set Thursday as its opening day.

It’s owned by new franchisees Josh and Christie Aberson.

“We are thrilled with how the site turned out,” Christie Aberson said. “The neighborhood has been very supportive, from nearby businesses excited for the additional food option to countless patrons driving or biking up over the past couple weeks thinking we’re already open and regrettably needing to be turned away. It’s safe to say everyone is ready.”

The menu will be the same as other B&G Milkyway locations, offering a range of ice cream and frozen treats, hot dogs, sloppy joes, burgers and chicken — plus basket options with homemade baked beans and potato salad.

There’s a double drive-thru to handle the anticipated demand.  This is the ninth B&G Milky location.

Hiring has been strong, Aberson said.

“We’ve been overwhelmed by applicants, which honestly surprised us,” she said. “People are excited to work in a fun environment close to home. That being said, we are always open to new applicants.”

Hours will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
