Newcomer to Sioux Falls coffee scene opens southeast drive-thru

Feb. 20, 2024

A steady stream of customers stopped this morning to check out the newcomer to the coffee scene in Sioux Falls.

Michael and Liz Minor have opened a Ziggi’s Coffee franchise at 4410 E. 57th St., just east of the new Kwik Star.

The new building offers drive-thru and walk-up service for coffee drinks, other beverages and breakfast items. A small patio will offer outdoor seating.

“We’ve got coffee. We have awesome chai,” Michael Minor said.

“We make our own energy drinks. They actually taste really good, and those are incredibly popular, especially with the younger generation.”

Other drinks include iced tea, Italian sodas, blenders and smoothies.

Breakfast options range from bagels and scones to bagel sandwiches and burritos.

“Our bacon and sausage burritos are awesome,” Minor said.

Dogs get a free pup cup with whipped cream and a biscuit.

The coffee shop has a kid’s menu, which is one of the reasons Minor said he was drawn to Ziggi’s Coffee. The couple also wanted to bring a new concept to Sioux Falls. The Colorado-based chain has two other locations in South Dakota: Aberdeen and Rapid City.

Hiring efforts have resulted in an almost full staff, but “we could use a few more during the day,” Minor noted.

To start, hours are 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

“We’ll gauge the community on what people want, and we can adjust around that,” Minor said.

The only day of the year the coffee shop will be closed is Christmas Day.

March 2 will be the grand opening with free drinks from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
