The third Sport Clips location in Sioux Falls opens this month.

Chelsea and Isaac Schreurs are the franchisees for the location at Westown Marketplace, 8006 W. 41st St., which plans to open at the end of January.

Chelsea Schreurs began her career in cosmetology in high school and then developed an interest in the franchise world.

Her husband encouraged her to pursue a concept, but days before finding out if they would qualify to become franchisees, Isaac — whose background is in business and engineering — received a job offer that took them to Austin, Texas.

Schreurs instead applied for a stylist position at a Sport Clips shop and began learning every aspect of the operations firsthand. After learning they were expecting their first child, they decided to move back to South Dakota and reengage their efforts at becoming Sport Clips franchisees.

“We specifically chose Sport Clips franchising because of the values: integrity, commitment and loyalty. These values go beyond the chair and into everyday life. It’s our mission to pour into, encourage and impact not just our stylists but every single client who walks into our store,” Schreurs said in a statement.

“Sport Clips is a brand that we believe in but also a brand that believes in us.”

The couple also is working to partner with multiple nonprofits that support individuals with disabilities, veterans and troubled youth.

The new southwest Sport Clips is the third shop in Sioux Falls but the first franchised location for the couple.

“We’ve been intentional throughout our journey in creating a store with an energetic, impactful and family-like culture for both the stylists and our customers,” Schreurs said. “We truly believe, with a great team alongside us, we can facilitate a prosperous environment both personally and professionally with a greater purpose in mind that will ultimately impact the city of Sioux Falls.”
