New floral shop overflows with color on downtown’s east side
Feb. 12, 2024
A new local flower business is opening just in time for Valentine’s Day.
Stephanie Thi, owner of In Flower, officially opened the pink door to her shop on East Eighth Street over the weekend.
The century-old renovated building includes Daylily Coffee next door, which opened earlier this month.
“There’s nothing cuter than coffee and flowers, so it’s a great pair,” Thi said.
She describes her vibe as fun, dreamy, eccentric and cool.
“I think a lot of people are afraid of color, and I like a lot of color,” Thi said. “It brings a lot of people joy.”
The Lake Preston area-native moved to Sioux Falls a decade ago and brings an art-forward style that she said is unique to the region.
“There’s a whole movement where floristry is being pushed more like an art form, and that’s where I fit in,” she explained.
Beyond the fresh and dry florals, the store carries vases, plants, candles, cards and other gifts with happy faces and disco balls.
“I think it’s fun to have something random in your house that doesn’t make sense,” she said. “That was my goal with the things I carry in here – cute but random.”
Hours for walk-ins at the store, 1010 E. Eighth St., are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. It’s open for pickup and delivery Tuesday through Saturday.
In Flower delivers fresh or dry flowers around town and ships dry florals all over the country. For information, visit In Flower online and on Instagram.
