New event venue opens inside Dell Rapids City Hall

The new City Hall in Dell Rapids has a special addition in its lower level: The Riverside event venue.
Brittney Nelson, the event center director, said it offers an “elegant space” for any occasion.
“The Riverside has space for weddings, baby showers, corporate trainings, etc.,” Nelson said. “We have a state-of-an-art AV system, an excellent caterer’s kitchen and a staffed bar.”
The Riverside at 317 E. Fourth St. has a maximum capacity of 170.
“We are proud to be on our main street and are utilizing a former open space,” Nelson said. “Our previous City Hall was small, and we had outgrown it quite awhile ago. Our new City Hall has plenty of space for staff and has a much-needed bigger space for City Council meetings.”
Nelson said The Riverside is a “welcome addition” to Dell Rapids.
“We did not have a formal event space before now,” Nelson said. “I think our community is big enough to support one. And I am excited to help people plan the most important and happiest days of their lives.”
The starting cost to reserve the venue for a wedding is $1,100. Other events are $75 to $100 an hour depending on the availability.
