What brought you to Sioux Falls?
I’m grateful to have had the privilege of being born and raised here!
What keeps you in Sioux Falls?
I love how Sioux Falls has grown into such a diverse city and one that is dedicated to growth and change. There is something to do here for everyone! We are also very fortunate to have such a clean city and supportive citizens. When you consider everything that we’ve accomplished over the last 25 years and all that is on the horizon, how could you leave? It’s an incredible time to be part of this community.
What’s your favorite thing about your job?
The people we get to work with and the amazing events and groups we help to bring to the city!
How did you get connected to your industry?
I have always worked in hospitality-facing roles but went to school for mass communications, intending on pursuing a career in advertising. As I was job hunting after college, I had an employer interview me and asked if I’d ever considered the events industry, where effective communication and customer service is pivotal. Taking their advice, I discovered a deep passion for the industry and haven’t looked back since.
Describe your workplace in three words.
Passionate. Driven. Supportive.
What is something someone might be surprised to learn about you?
I will go to almost any concert that I’m invited to, even if I don’t like the music. I think there is something incredibly special about live music; the energy and emotions from the crowd are unbeatable.
What’s your favorite way to give back to your community?
I try to give and volunteer with organizations that support the well-being of children, women and animals. I also try to give blood and volunteer for various committees/nonprofit drives as often I can. I’m also a member of our local SME chapter and have served on the Women in Business committee.
What’s one business you’d like to see in Sioux Falls that isn’t here now?
Trader Joe’s, hands-down.
If you had $1 million to start a business, what kind of business would it be?
I would probably start a luxury pet resort/day care center out on the west side of Sioux Falls!
