Brides and grooms on a budget will find a new option to save at a store that recently opened east of downtown.

Bride to Bride Wedding Co. is at 408 S. Cliff Ave. The consignment store sells wedding attire, offers event guidance and rents out bigger items such as furniture, specialty linens and arches.

“We are one of five in the United States that carries every aspect of weddings at consignment prices,” owner Courtney Thorpe said.

That includes dresses for brides, bridal parties, flower girls and the mother of the bride, as well as shoes and decor.

“It’s all priced well, whether it’s brand-new or consignment.”

Thorpe said there are a variety of reasons someone might bring in a wedding dress to sell – and some of that is generational.

“We hear people say ‘we had the most fabulous day, but we don’t have the space to hang on to it, and I want someone else to enjoy it,’” Thorpe said. “The generation getting married now are such minimalists.”

Items must be dry-cleaned and in exceptional shape to be resold, Thorpe said. “We’re picky on what we taken in.”

The store also has new inventory – brides sometimes buy a dress in the wrong size or buy one and then fall in love with something else, and bring in brand-new dresses to sell. Bride to Bride also contracts with various companies and sells sample dresses. The store gets several new dresses every week, Thorpe said

“People get married in May, and they bring us their dress in June,” she said.

Her hope is everyone who comes in feels great about their big day – and finds the right items at the right price, she said, adding that her favorite part of the job is helping people have a great day.

“It’s a fun, eclectic spot, and it’s not just for weddings. If you’re planning holiday get-togethers or birthday parties, we have the items and the knowledge to help with all that. If we don’t have it, we’ll help you find it,” Thorpe said. “Our goal is helping our customers save money and have a great experience.”

Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
