Nationally recognized manager thrives on helping others restore, rebuild

May 5, 2026

This week’s Up-and-Comer is Megan Dietz, mitigation manager at Rainbow Restoration. She recently was named the company’s national operations manager of the year.

Name: Megan Dietz

Age: 37

Hometown:  Sioux Falls

What brought you to Sioux Falls?

Born and raised here.

What keeps you in Sioux Falls?

It is a wonderful place to raise a family, a friendly community, and I have built a beautiful life here.

What’s your favorite thing about your job?

I love that the industry is ever-changing, and I’m always learning something new, whether it be about the various areas of restoration work or the reconstruction part of things. I also love that we really do get to help people in some of the hardest times.

How did you get connected to your industry?

My cousin and Rainbow’s repair division manager, Misti, tried for quite some time to get me to come apply at Rainbow. The year we had the tornadoes land in Sioux Falls, I went out and helped her on some job sites. All I really did was empty totes of water where the dehumidifiers had been purging to, but I was so intrigued I had to apply and see what this was all about

Describe your workplace in three words.

Rewarding, enriching, home.

What is something someone might be surprised to learn about you?

I love power tools, demolition and learning how to operate machinery. So far, the boom lift has been my favorite to operate.

What’s your favorite way to give back to your community?

I have a few different things that I give my time to that mean a lot to me. I serve in the nursery at my church, volunteer for a local dog rescue – B-Squad — and chaperone and am co-VP of the booster club for my daughter’s choir. I feel strongly that the youth are our future and it’s important to be there for them. I think it is important for everyone to find something they are passionate about and volunteer their time, even if it is only a little bit.

What’s one business you’d like to see in Sioux Falls that isn’t here now?

I just recently experienced Trader Joe’s. That would be pretty cool to have here.
