Libby Skarin
Libby Skarin has been named executive director of the ACLU of South Dakota, North Dakota and Wyoming. Skarin joined the ACLU in 2014 as the policy director for the ACLU of South Dakota. In 2020, she was promoted to the chapter’s campaigns director, and in 2023, she was named deputy executive director. Before joining the ACLU, Skarin served as an assistant attorney general for the state of Iowa and worked with the Sioux City Human Rights Commission, as well as Iowa Legal Aid.

David Doe

David Doe, a lead direct support professional at LifeScape, has been honored by Community Support Providers of South Dakota as this year’s Simply the Best Excellence in Service Award recipient. Doe began his career at LifeScape as a DSP in March 2023 and was promoted to lead just a few months later.

Travel South Dakota
Travel South Dakota won two awards in Travel Weekly’s annual Magellan Awards. The “Story of a State” Super Bowl TV spot and campaign won a gold award in the TV commercial category for destination marketing. The state Tourism Department also received a silver award for its inaugural “So Much South Dakota, So Little Time” winter campaign in the campaign advertising/marketing for destinations category. The projects were done in partnership with Travel South Dakota’s agencies of record, led by Karsh Hagan’s creative, and including work by Miles Partnerships, Lawrence & Schiller, Lou Hammond Group and Love Communications.
