Drew Woelfel has joined The First National Bank in Sioux Falls as chief operations officer and senior vice president. He has more than 25 years of banking experience, including operations and management.

Paula Bindert to assistant vice president. She is a wealth adviser and joined the bank in February 2022.

Tyler Urban to assistant vice president. He is the crop insurance specialist and has been with the bank for seven years.

Amy DeYonge to officer. She is the retirement plans specialist and has been with the bank for six years.

Tim Ginter to officer. He is the facilities maintenance manager and has been with the bank for nearly15 years.

Maguire Iron has promoted Steve Braley from manufacturing engineer to vice president of manufacturing.

Jordan Veurink

Jordan Veurink, a shareholder at Woods Fuller, has been elected as a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. Veurink becomes a member of the premier professional organization for trust and estate lawyers in the U.S. and worldwide. ACTEC is comprised of approximately 2,400 lawyers and law professors, all peer selected, practicing mainly in the trust and estate area.

First Premier Bank has hired Faycal Kabre as treasury officer. Kabre has nearly 10 years of professional experience.

 

JDS Industries

Jody Lemme

Jody Lemme of JDS Industries has been named Sales Rep of the Year for 2022 by the Awards and Personalization Association. Lemme has been with JDS since 2009, and his territory includes all of Canada, the Pacific Northwest, Wyoming, Montana, Utah, Colorado, Kansas, North Dakota, South Dakota and Nebraska.

 

Maximizing Excellence

Lisa Karsky

Lisa Karsky has joined Maximizing Excellence LLC as a consultant. She previously served as a campaign director for the Sioux Empire United Way and worked for other nonprofits in Sioux Falls. Before moving into fundraising, she worked in leadership for Target at stores in South Dakota, North Dakota and Minnesota.

Data destruction and IT asset disposition company SEAM has promoted several members of its leadership team.

Vince Anderson to president. He has nearly 17 years of experience in the industry and has been with SEAM since its inception in 2012.

Paul Baldwin to vice president/compliance engineer. He has been with the company since 2012.

Levi Hentges to vice president/business development. He joined SEAM in 2015.

Denise DeCurtins to general manager. She has been with the company since 2017.

Wade Whaler to testing manager. He has been with SEAM since 2014.

Nolan Hansen to resale manager. He joined SEAM in 2018.

Ted Braaten to fleet manager. He has been with the company since 2020.

Megan Barkley has joined SEAM as the new client and human resource specialist.

South Dakota School for the Blind and Visually Impaired

Jessica Vogel

Jessica Vogel, an assistant professor of education at Northern State University, will become the next superintendent of the South Dakota School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. She has worked alongside many of the students, teachers and staff at SDSBVI, supervising teacher trainings and serving on school committees and boards. Vogel has a doctorate in educational administration – special education, a master’s degree in emotional and behavior disorders, and a bachelor’s degree in special education. She is working on a master’s degree in visual impairments. Vogel will succeed Dan Trefz in June.

South Dakota Services for the Deaf

Kami Van Sickle

Kami Van Sickle has been named the next superintendent of the South Dakota Services for the Deaf, formerly known as the South Dakota School for the Deaf. Van Sickle started her career with SDSD in 2011 as an outreach consultant before transitioning to service coordinator in 2018. Before that, Van Sickle was a teacher for the deaf and hard of hearing in the Sioux Falls and Worthington school districts. Van Sickle will succeed Kim Wadsworth when she retires in June.
