Mobile app to reduce food waste launches in Sioux Falls
Jan. 3, 2025
A global app designed to reduce food waste while offering savings for consumers has arrived in Sioux Falls.
Too Good To Go is an online marketplace for surplus food. Users reserve an order and then receive a surprise bag of food.

Participating retailers so far in Sioux Falls include Circle K and Intoxibakes.
At Circle K, for instance, customers reserve $12 worth of food for $4 and then pick up a bag that will be filled with ready-to-eat goods, including sandwiches, wraps, salads, snacks, pastries, chips or fresh produce.
Intoxibakes surprise bags include everything from cupcakes to bars and cake pops.
“Some things might not be pretty enough to sell or could be cakes that have fallen apart and we just put frosting on top in a container,” the business says in the app, noting some items could be from its line of alcohol-infused baked goods, though the content is low enough to be consumed by all ages, it said.
The orders are available in limited quantities.
Too Good To Go was founded in 2015 in Denmark and expanded to the U.S. five years later.
You can download it in the Apple App Store or through Google Play.
