Supply and workforce shortages, rising inflation rates and economic uncertainty will be among the themes of the upcoming annual Midwest Economic Outlook Summit.

Held Feb. 8 from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Delta by Marriott in Fargo, the event is organized by the Fargo Morehead West Fargo Chamber in partnership with 25 co-hosting chambers and communities in five states.

It’s also available through livestream.

“This year’s Midwest Economic Outlook Summit will explore the current economic climate, with a special focus on forecasting and understanding the shifting markets, both in the Midwest and across the nation,” said Tyler Fischbach, vice president of communications of the FMWF Chamber.

“We’ll also be delving into the topic of interest rates, the housing market, inflation and getting an inside look at the industries that drive our economy, including agriculture, energy, manufacturing, health care, real estate and technology. Our speakers and experts will also examine the possibility of a recession and examine the latest market signals.”

Speakers include Douglas G. Duncan, senior vice president of Fannie Mae; Ron Feldman, first vice president, Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis; as well as leaders from six industry sectors during panel discussions.

“The vitality and development of our region rely on its participants and leaders having a thorough understanding of the economy and its major influencing factors, patterns and obstacles,” said Shannon Full, president and CEO of the FMWF Chamber.

“This summit provides a unique opportunity for attendees to be a part of the conversation, shape the future of our economy and strengthen the voice and presence of the Midwest. We are thrilled to be able to bring this important event, along with high-profile speakers, back to the region, and we hope that our community and Chamber members will join us for this important discussion.”

This summit is designed for business leaders and professionals, community leaders and Midwestern residents who are seeking a deeper understanding of the current economic climate.

“Whether you’re a business owner, community leader or simply someone who is interested in the direction of the economy, this summit offers valuable insights, expert perspectives, unique connections and networking, and an in-depth look at the key trends shaping the economy today,” Fischbach said.

“Attendees will leave the event with a wealth of knowledge and valuable insights that will help them make more informed decisions.”
