What brought you to Sioux Falls?

I moved back from Minneapolis to be closer to family.

What keeps you in Sioux Falls?

The energy of the city; there’s plenty to take part in. Good food. Great attractions. Easily accessible. And it’s an all-around very livable environment. It ticks a lot of boxes!

What’s your favorite thing about your job?

I love relearning about our community, especially connecting with the people who are meeting the housing needs of the Sioux Empire. What drives them? How will our community evolve? How can we continue to provide places and spaces for people to live, work and play? I look forward to helping connect all those things.

How did you get connected to your industry?

I’ve always been involved with the commercial side of the design industry, so transitioning to a residential focus is an exciting change. And for me, home is where I find comfort, so marrying the two seems like a natural progression for where I’m at in life, building a family of my own.

What is something someone might be surprised to learn about you?

I have my master’s in architecture and my undergraduate degree in interior design.

What’s your favorite way to give back to your community?

It’s the little things that I hope build up. Picking up trash. Opening the door. Smiling at someone. You never know if a person is having a good or bad day, so if we can all chip in a little, I believe there’s potential for tremendous impact.

What’s one business you’d like to see in Sioux Falls that isn’t here now?

Trader Joe’s.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

I see myself continuing to build relationships to the people, places and things in our community by driving mentorship, celebrating diversity and creating authentic connections.
