Hometown: Brookings, S.D.

What brought you to Sioux Falls: A job opportunity at Central Bank

What keeps you in Sioux Falls: The opportunity for growth within the community and living in a larger city while still being close to family.

What’s your favorite thing about your job?

Within my role at Central Bank, I have the chance to market not only competitive products, but also our brand values and bank history. I have the opportunity to assist all our markets, including locations in Sioux City, Brookings, Des Moines, Storm Lake, IA, and Spirit Lake, IA, so I’m able to help with a little bit of everything, learn a lot as I go, and stay busy. Every day brings something new my way!

How did you get connected to your industry?

I interviewed for a receptionist position at a credit union before graduating in 2022, and the interview went so well that they created a marketing position for me instead! From then on, I was able to gain experience with financial institution marketing strategy, tactics, and products.

Describe your workplace in three words.

Hard-working, welcoming, and local.

What is something someone might be surprised to learn about you?

I am also a fitness instructor at B|WELL Company on the weeknights and weekends! I’ve been teaching cycling, kickboxing, strength-training, barre, and hot yoga sculpt for 2.5 years now, and I look forward to every class still.  I’m very passionate about fostering and creating an inclusive wellness experience for all, and B|WELL Company’s culture has been just that and more.

What’s your favorite way to give back to your community?

I am a mentor within the Teammates Mentoring program, and I’m also a big advocate for shopping small. My dad is a small business owner, and my mom is a teacher, so those two areas of impact hit close to home for me!

What’s one business you’d like to see in Sioux Falls that isn’t here now?

Tropical Smoothie Café or Dunkin’ Donuts

If you had $1 million to start a business, what kind of business would it be?

It would be a combination of all the things I’m passionate about and enjoy. An inclusive café and retailer with a consignment library, where the public has free access to books. The menu would consist of fun coffees and mocktails, pizza, appetizers, comfort foods, and nutritious salads and wraps. The retail side of the store would be size and gender inclusive, and the space would be drug-free and welcoming to all.
