Longtime party supply store to close

May 24, 2022

Party Land is going out of business.

After more than 20 years, the store at 5231 W. 26th St. will launch its going-out-of-business sale June 1.

All merchandise will be discounted, with some up to half off. Fixtures, equipment and store supplies also will be for sale.

Until then, the store is open for business as usual but will be closed May 29-31.

While owners Gary and Cindy Krekelberg began the store as a franchise, it’s now independently owned. It carries a wide variety of party supplies, including paper plates, napkins, cups, table covers, banners, balloons, noisemakers, beads and other decorations such as streamers and yard signs. There are also small toys, party favors, gift wrap and more.

Supplies are available for kid and adult birthday parties, weddings, showers, religious events and sports celebrations.

The June 1 sale hours will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. After that, regular hours will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays. A final day hasn’t been announced, but it will be before the end of July.
