You’ve bought the vehicle — but what happens after the sale shows how a dealership truly can step up to meet your needs.
“We’ve made multiple investments in taking care of our guests after the sale,” said Ed Bloom, dealer principal at Sioux Falls Ford Lincoln.
“And they’re not just offered to those who have bought vehicles from us in the past but any customer regardless of the type of vehicle you drive. Once customers discover the advantages to having service work done here, they tend to love the convenience and perks we offer.”
When it comes to vehicle repair and maintenance, these services are setting Sioux Falls Ford Lincoln apart.
Service where it works for you
Forget driving to the dealership and waiting in line — in many cases, Sioux Falls Ford Lincoln can offer mobile service to guests.
“We were one of only 200 dealerships nationwide to offer Ford mobile service to our guests when we started six years ago, and it’s been so popular, we now have five vans in our mobile service fleet,” Bloom said.
For example, is your check engine light on? Just reach out, and let the technician come to you.
“We want to earn your business for life, so our goal is to make something like this as easy and comfortable as possible,” said Jamison Reiners, service and parts director.
“We usually can see you the next day or two with our mobile service team. We’ll come out to your home or workplace and determine what’s going on and if your vehicle is safe to drive.”
As long as it doesn’t involve lifting the vehicle, some work can be done through the mobile service while your vehicle never leaves your garage or driveway.
“In other cases, we’ll be able to order parts and then get you scheduled for service,” Reiners said. “We’ve had many guests who have come from other places in town and can’t get in for an appointment for weeks, and we’re often able to take care of it much sooner.”
This free service can tackle a wide variety of issues, including:
- Electrical diagnostics and repair
- Drivability and warning light diagnostics and repair
- Gasoline engine diagnostics and repair
- Ignition key programming
- Cooling system diagnosis — radiator
- Power windows and door locks
- Recalls
- Radio
- Interior
- Belts, hoses and filters
- Wipers
- Battery
- Ford software programming
- Sync concerns
- FordPass concerns
- Interior/exterior lighting
- Exterior part inspection/replacement
“Our guests’ feedback about mobile service has been very positive,” Bloom added. “People love that we save them two or three hours of time just by showing up to their home or workplace and completing the job. I have a goal to add one technician and van to our mobile fleet each year — the demand is that great.”
Pickup and delivery
If your vehicle can’t be serviced by the mobile team, you still don’t need to venture to the dealership.
The Sioux Falls Ford Lincoln team will come to you for free, pick up your vehicle, take it in for service and bring it back when it’s done.
“We’re often able to do same-day service,” general manager Josh Mills said. “If it’s something like an oil change, we might only need a couple hours from the time we pick it up and bring it back.”
Need a loaner? There’s a huge fleet of them.
“We have nine dedicated Lincoln loaners and more than 100 Ford loaner vehicles,” Mills said. “Just let us know, and we can take care of you. Maybe you need to haul something around — ask if you can have a pickup, and we likely can get you that while your vehicle is being serviced.”
In most cases, “we’re providing that service in and around the Sioux Falls area, but it’s not uncommon to stretch the distance to 90 miles depending on the services required,” Bloom added. “We’ve added more than 20 drivers to our staff because we know our customers appreciate the convenience.”
It’s so popular, you often won’t find much of a crowd waiting in the guest lounge at the dealership.
“We just ordered new lounge furniture, and it should last 30 years,” Mills said, laughing. “Guests just aren’t having to wait. Our shop will be full, but there might be one customer in the lounge.”
Experts ready to work on your vehicle
The large service department at Sioux Falls Ford Lincoln not only means your vehicle will be in and out much faster than the industry average but also that truly experts will work on your job.
With more than 40 technicians, many vehicles are done in three days or less.
“We have nearly one dozen senior master-certified technicians, which takes extensive training and at least five years of working at a dealer. It’s the highest level you can achieve with Ford and Lincoln as a technician,” Reiners said.
“The remainder of our team are specialized in areas like electrical repair, commercial, engines and transmission, along with maintenance, so they are people who really have taken the time to learn the trade.”
Both Mills and Reiners relocated from a Twin Cities Mercedes-Benz dealership to work at Sioux Falls Ford Lincoln — and they’ve had great success bringing in outstanding technicians from across the country.
“Jamison is aggressive in hiring and training and has developed a training program that draws technicians here from all over the country,” Mills said.
On the Lincoln side, dedicated sales consultants and service advisers “spend countless hours training on the Lincoln brand, so they understand the features, functionality and technology of each vehicle,” Bloom said.
“Lincoln has done a terrific job refreshing their entire vehicle lineup, and it’s one of the fastest-growing luxury brands. Our team works hard to understand the vehicles’ capabilities so the customer enjoys their ride to the fullest extent possible.”
Service director Mike McWilliams is a former hotel general manager who “knows those vehicles inside and out,” Mills said. “Because he’s only dedicated to Lincoln, that allows him additional time to spend with guests and become truly specialized.”
On any given day, at least one or two people are traveling for in-person training to hone their skills.
“There’s so much technology in vehicles, our team has to stay sharp,” Mills said. “They used to have a wrench in hand all the time, and now half the time they’re likely on a computer.”
A vehicle that will shine when it’s done
Every vehicle serviced at Sioux Falls Ford Lincoln will receive a free wash, so you’ll be on your way with a vehicle that’s not only newly maintained but looks great too.
“We’re here to support you in every way,” Mills said. “After the sale, we ensure the service side is as easy as possible with tons of expertly trained staff to help.”
