Law firm unveils unique art collection

April 8, 2022

Sioux Falls-based Woods, Fuller, Shultz & Smith has added a collection of local artwork to complement its recent downtown office renovation.

The new pieces and works from the firm’s existing collection are tied to South Dakota artists and geographic themes of South Dakota and the Upper Midwest.

An internal committee made decisions on new acquisitions, custom commissions, art placement and many details related to framing and display, with guidance from Kara Dirkson, founder of Alla Prima Art Services.

“The result is a beautiful, carefully curated art collection that celebrates the diverse offerings of regional artists,” Dirkson said.

The collection includes work from artists Paul Peterson, Linn Thygeson, P. Michael Hook, Don Montileaux, Sheila Agee and the late Robert Fletcher Gilder.

The project brought business to nearly two dozen artists and small businesses, the law firm said.

“This collection demonstrates our unique commitment to create a meaningful environment for our staff and our clients as well as invest in our community and do business locally,” said James Moore, Woods Fuller shareholder and art committee member.
