Kid to Kid opens to big response
May 2, 2024
A new store filled with resale items for kids has opened.
Kid to Kid is on the north side of the Western Mall at 2101 W. 41st St. and offers apparel, toys and accessories for all ages.
Response from area parents selling their gently used kids’ items has been overwhelming, said Alexa Goodroad, the local franchisee.
“The response has been amazing,” she said.
“We have been well ahead of the franchise expectations as far as buying in items, and we have purchased such amazing and high-quality items.
“It’s been very apparent that there was a need in the community and surrounding areas for a Kid to Kid store.”
Opening day brought an inventory of clothing for boys and girls from preemie and newborn through teen sizes, as well as a large selection of shoes from infant through adult, including sports cleats and dance shoes. For summer fun, there are swimsuits, coverups and life jackets.
The inventory also includes about 10 percent new merchandise, and store credit can be used for that too.
“We pride ourselves on providing an upscale shopping experience,” Goodroad said. “Our store is bright, clean and organized by gender, size, item, style and color.”
There’s also “a huge wall of toys for all ages, including dinosaurs, Legos, puzzles, dollhouses and many new toys,” she continued. “So much kids equipment! Pack-and-plays, strollers, swings, sit-me-ups, walkers, bassinets, play pens, bikes, wagons and more.”
Kid to Kid also will continue buying merchandise. There’s an option to pay out in cash or for 20 percent more in store credit.
Hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
The business also is still hiring, mostly for daytime hours with at least 15 hours per week required. Click here to learn more.
