JPMorgan Chase CEO to visit Sioux Falls

Aug. 2, 2021

JPMorgan Chase & Co. chairman and CEO Jamie Dimon will be in Sioux Falls this week to help open the first Chase Bank branch in the state.

Dimon, who has served as CEO of the nation’s largest bank since 2005, has been named one of the world’s most influential individuals by Time magazine four times.

Among the Fortune 500 CEOs, Dimon was voted most admired among his peers in 2020 for the second consecutive year.

His visit to Sioux Falls is part of an annual listening tour the CEO conducts by bus, traveling across the country talking with employees and customers.

The ribbon-cutting at Empire Place on West 41st Street will be Tuesday afternoon but is not a public event because of COVID-related restrictions.

It’s the first of multiple locations for Chase in Sioux Falls. There are branches under construction at 26th Street and Sycamore Avenue and along Western Avenue south of 57th Street.

The new branch will employ 10 people and include self-service transaction areas, a digital access bar and two interior ATMs, one drive-thru ATM and one in the exterior of the branch, accessible by debit card after hours. The branch services will include checking and savings accounts, business banking, mortgages, investment products and advisers. There will be Chase private client offices, teller services, a night depository and free Wi-Fi.

Before his role with Chase, Dimon was CEO of Bank One, and previous to that, he was the chief financial officer of a company that later would become Citigroup.
