The fans were ready when Jersey Mike’s Subs opened its first Sioux Falls location.

The restaurant at 4908 S. Louise Ave. is franchised by Greg and Andrew Ticknor, who discovered Jersey Mike’s while traveling.

After his first sandwich, “I was instantly the biggest fan,” Andrew Ticknor said. “I was born and raised in this community and couldn’t be more proud to share this quality product with fellow members of our ‘not-so-small’ town.”

To celebrate the grand opening, Jersey Mike’s has been circulating 7,500 coupons throughout the community. A coupon along with a $2 donation to The Teddy Bear Den will land a customer a free regular sub. The grand opening runs through Sunday.

Jersey Mike’s is known for its hot and cold subs, topped with “the juice” – a blend of red wine vinegar and olive oil. Bread is baked in-store, meats and cheeses are sliced in store, and there’s also an Udi’s gluten-free bread available.

There are more than 2,000 locations open and under development nationwide. Sioux Falls is expected to be a multistore market.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
