GreatLIFE members in Yankton and beyond now have a new state-of-the-art fitness addition.

The GreatLIFE Yankton Functional Training Center opened this week. It’s adjacent to the GreatLIFE Yankton Fitness Center at 201 Capital St. that used to be Fitness 365 and became part of the GreatLIFE family earlier this year.

“It’s going awesome. Everyone is loving it,” manager Lynn Mueller said.

The new space is about 4,000 square feet and features a turf area with more functional training space, a bigger free weight area, locker rooms and showers. It’s open to members 14 and older.

“A lot of our members have been checking it out this week and really, really like it,” Mueller said. “The feedback is that Yankton really needed this. They’re excited and couldn’t wait for the turf and really are enjoying the deadlift platform.”

New additions include sleds, battle ropes, a skier and rower.

“People really like all the options and access,” Mueller said.

Both fitness centers can be accessed by members from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Fox Run Golf Course in Yankton also is managed by GreatLIFE and available to members.

Overall, GreatLIFE has been a welcome addition to the Yankton community, Mueller said.

“People really like that they utilize GreatLIFE in Yankton here as well as at the Summit Center and all the fitness centers in Sioux Falls,” she said. “They like the price point for a family membership. It was very reasonable, and they like that we added functional training just to give another option.”
