MetaBank

MetaBank had 32 bowling teams – enough to fill an entire bowling alley – for the Junior Achievement Bowl-a-Thon. Meta raised $12,473 during the event.

MetaBank’s Meta Women’s Network hosted a chili cook-off with funds going to The Feisty Fighters, a breast cancer organization. Employees donated $902 and MetaBank corporate donated $1,000.

MetaBank and Visa have teamed up to offer charity gift cards for businesses whose employees have been affected by the recent natural disasters. MetaBank has issued almost 9,000 charity gift cards to residents in California. In addition, MetaBank is working with its network of independent ATM operators in Puerto Rico to waive ATM fees until Jan. 1, 2018.

Fareway Stores Inc.

Fareway Stores Inc. is partnering with the Marine Corps on its Toys for Tots campaign. The program provides toys to less-fortunate children during the holiday season. The grocery stores are taking cash donations and collecting new, unwrapped toys through Dec. 23.

Sanford Health

Sanford Health hosted a veterans’ appreciation breakfast Nov. 29 at the VFW. Paul Weckman, director of Sanford’s department of veterans and military services, updated veterans on the upcoming construction of a Veterans Club on the Sanford USD Medical Center campus.
