Frontier Bank names new market president

Nov. 18, 2025

A longtime area banking leader has taken on a new role as market president of Frontier Bank in Sioux Falls.

David Brown brings 36 years of industry experience to his new role, including more than a decade as market president for Heritage Bank.

Earlier in his career, he was a senior vice president at Home Federal Bank, now First Interstate Bank.

In joining Frontier, he will oversee the bank’s operations and growth strategy in the Sioux Falls area, including focusing on strengthening client relationships and expanding the bank’s presence in the community.

Frontier Bank has two locations in Sioux Falls: one downtown at 101 S. Phillips Ave., where Brown is based, and a branch at 3501 W. 57th St. that has served the market for more than 20 years. Frontier started in 1932 in Rock Rapids, Iowa, and also has branches in George and Little Rock, Iowa.

Brown and Frontier Bank CEO Scott Schneidermann began their banking careers together in the Sioux City area.

“I just really like the way they do business and how they do community banking — taking care of customers,” Brown said. “We see a lot of potential to continue to grow.”

The bank continues to look at opportunities to expand in the area, Schneidermann said.

“Sioux Falls is just an amazing market,” he said. “Sioux Falls has a very pro-business climate. It’s underpinned by health care and education and retail, and that brings a lot of people into the community. It’s been a steady grower, 2 to 3 percent a year. The people that had a vision for Sioux Falls years ago executed on that over a period of time, and we’re enjoying the benefits of that today.”

Brown’s role will be key in enhancing the bank’s growth in the market, he added.

“Dave’s experience and dedication to client success align perfectly with Frontier Bank’s values,” Schneidermann said. “We’re thrilled to have him lead our Sioux Falls market and help guide the next phase of our growth.”
