Free workshop to help those ‘hunting for talent’

When it comes to finding workers, many businesses would say it’s always hunting season.

A workshop Thursday, Nov. 2, aims to help them with their targeting.

Hunting for Talent 2.0 is put on by Alternative HRD and held at the Zeal Center for Entrepreneurship.

The free, fast-paced event runs from 8 to 10 a.m. and will provide information to help employers in their hiring.

Speakers and topics include:

  • Commissioner Scott Stern, Governor’s Office of Economic Development: Marketing South Dakota as a Great Place to Work. 
  • Lon Clemensen, vice president workforce development, Sioux Falls Development Foundation: Targeting Specialized Populations.
  • Melissa Moerike, human resource Consultant, Alternative HRD: Social Media Trends for 2018.
  • Mark Boehm, tax and industry specialist, Governor’s Office of Economic Development: Selling Your Opportunity to Out-of-State Candidates.
  • Karen DeLange, human resource Consultant, Alternative HRD: Creating an Amazing Candidate Experience.
  • Dan Oakland, CEO/human resource consultant, Alternative HRD: Building a Competitive Recruiting Advantage.
