Four ways to enjoy a meal – or take it to go – at Pomegranate Market

Whether you’re meeting for breakfast or lunch or grabbing food on the go, Pomegranate Market has multiple options for meals that might surprise you.

“We’re far more than a grocery store,” founder and CEO Craig Snyder said. “While many people love shopping for groceries here, a growing number stop in for a meal – and of course plenty do both at the same time. We’re excited for more people to discover all the dining options we’ve created here.”

Smoothie and juice bar adds acai bowls

Made with fresh, whole ingredients, Pomegranate Market’s smoothie and juice bar has something for all taste buds and nutrition goals.

“We don’t use concentrate or additives; everything is made fresh and because of that the smoothies retain all their fiber, which is an additional benefit,” general manager Matt McFarland said. “Now that the weather is getting nicer we’ve seen an influx of people come in for the smoothie and juice bar, which is great.”

Ask for your beverage made-to-order or select one of many premade for those on the go.

Some of the most popular smoothies include the Java Monkey, which is made with banana, fresh-ground peanut butter, dairy-free chocolate chips, coffee plant protein and cashew milk, and the Green Glow, made with banana, green apple, cucumber, spinach and lemon juice. There’s always a smoothie of the month, too – Mango Mambo for May.

Juice favorites include the 605, which is made with lemon, ginger and apple, and the Green Garden, made with ginger, lemon, cucumber, kale and celery.

“The juices are really great for a nice clean healthy item for customers wanting to get a good nutritional fix with no extra sugars,” McFarland said.

A newer item, acai bowls, also has been popular as customers discover them.

“They are another great option for summer,” McFarland said. “They’re really refreshing and again made with fresh, clean ingredients.”

You’ll find baked goods here, too, including fresh muffins, macarons and protein balls, along with fresh coffee from local producer Cherry Bean Coffee Co. There are options for cold brew, chai and hot and cold tea, too.

The smoothie and juice bar is open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Soup & Salad Bar

Choose from among several dozen items on the Pomegranate Market salad bar, which includes a variety of greens, toppings and locally sourced dressings on one side. On the other, guests will find a dozen composed salads that rotate often.

“We’re driven by the seasons around here, so options on the salad bar change accordingly,” McFarland said. “In the fall, we see a lot of squash and root vegetables. We have staples, like our kale ceviche salad, which are on year-round, but a lot of it is driven by what’s in-season.”

Soups rotate as well, offering three different options daily. The salad bar is priced by the pound.

“Anything we make in-house is labeled,” McFarland added. “So if they’re vegan or gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free or nut-free, we note that and are trying to be really conscious of dietary restrictions. There aren’t a lot of places to go out to eat when you have certain restrictions, and we want to make sure this is one of them.”

The soup and salad bar is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Hot Bar & Bistro

The meals are always changing at the Hot Bar. Breakfast is served from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday through Saturday and brunch is offered from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.

“We do bagels, breakfast sandwiches, breakfast burritos, and on weekends we’ll do things like bread pudding, French toast, frittatas, breakfast potatoes, quiche, all sorts of things,” McFarland said. “At brunch we like to be a little creative and have fun.”

Lunch at the Hot Bar is served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and offerings rotate daily.

“We’ve done meatloaf, lasagna, grilled chicken, salmon, again drawing on what’s in season as we’re creating the dishes,” McFarland said.

Friday’s are especially popular, as they feature dishes from locally owned Salas Salsas, including authentic homemade tamales, enchiladas, empanadas, burritos and more.

Additionally, guests at The Bistro can order off a standing menu of eight sandwiches and paninis, as well as several grass-fed beef burgers. Click here to see the menu.

“There’s seating in the Bistro and it’s often full,” McFarland said. “It’s wonderful to see people coming in, whether they’re having a business meeting, catching up or coming in for a book club or poetry club. Our goal is to be a place to come in and get an affordable meal, whether you’re dining in or taking it home or to work.”

Hours at The Bistro are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

With growing customer base, new additions, Pomegranate Market builds on natural, organic niche
