Down Home by DeBoers will be a collection of home decor, accent pieces and furniture with an exclusive section for Aubree Says, the DeBoer’s family-friendly home decor brand.

The couple announced the news to followers on social media Tuesday.

The store will be in a strip mall in the Bakker Landing development just west of the Tea exit off of Interstate 29.

It has been a dream to bring the store to the local community, Chelsea DeBoer told SiouxFalls.Business following the announcement.

“Tea is such a fast-growing community; we wanted to be part of that.” she said.

“We loved that it’s on the outskirts of Sioux Falls yet so easily accessible. There are so many amazing surrounding communities; it felt like the perfect midway point for everyone.”

The nearly 2,300-square-foot store is scheduled to open early next year. It’s in a retail center that includes Starbucks and has one spot left.

“The visibility provided by the location is fantastic,” said Brody Etrheim of Vantis Commercial Real Estate, who brokered the deal. “That area is developing a strong retail presence, and we wanted to be a part of it.”

DeBoer said she recognizes the need for fresh home decor options to complement existing antique shops close to the fast-growing nearby neighborhood developments.

“We want to create the feeling of comfort,” she explained. “We want people to walk into a friendly environment and be able to envision their home and use their own creativity – with our help if needed – to create the home of their dreams whether it’s with accents, a full home refresh or gifts. We want to be able to provide that for them.”

The couple debuted a new series on HGTV in early 2023.

DeBoer said “Down Home Fab” will debut its second season in early 2024 around the same time the DeBoer family hopes to hold their new store’s grand opening.

“Homes are such a personal and safe space for people, and we recognize that. Whether it comes to renovations or decorating, our goal is always to fall back in love with their home if they’ve been there for a while or make a new space feel like theirs,” she said.

“It should be a reflection of your own personality and style and really be the space you can kick back, relax and make memories.”

The couple are documenting their journey to the grand opening on Instagram.
