Fiserv discloses extent of Sioux Falls layoffs

Jan. 16, 2024

Financial services tech company Fiserv Inc. plans to lay off an estimated 80 workers in Sioux Falls in the coming months.

The company disclosed its plans for layoffs as part of the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification, or WARN, Act.

The employee separations began occurring in December and are expected to go through April, Fiserv said in its notice. All associates will be eligible for benefits in exchange for release, and benefits will include outplacement services, the company said.

In October, Fiserv confirmed it was discontinuing operations at 4501 S. Technology Drive. At the time, employees were offered the chance to relocate to a larger campus in another state or apply for other roles at the locations.

Fiserv is a Fortune 500 company specializing in payments and financial technology, including account processing and digital banking solutions, card issuer processing and network services, payments, e-commerce, merchant acquiring and processing, and the Clover cloud-based point-of-sale and business management platform.

Fiserv’s presence in Sioux Falls evolved from its acquisition of Precision Computer Systems in 2003, which had operations here. It has operated under the Fiserv name since 2009.
