For the third consecutive year, an all-female team is set to make history at the annual Kilts for Kids fundraiser benefiting Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Dakota.

This dynamic group of women seeks to raise a record-setting $50,000 in just 10 days, continuing “A Week of Good” which started Monday and ends Oct. 9.

Building on the success of previous years, the team is not just out for friendly competition — these award-winning women are set to demonstrate the power of community and the difference it can make for families facing unimaginable hardships. By adding new women leaders to the legacy team and more participating businesses, the team aims to expand its reach and impact.

The women of this year’s “If Looks Could Kilt team” have been nominated for or won more than 35 business and leadership awards. The team includes four business owners and two executive leaders at a Fortune 100 company. These women are turning their attention to helping kids and families in need — and are asking for the community’s help to succeed.

“We are thrilled to continue the legacy we started and expand our fundraising army of women leaders. Help us shatter records, create a movement, and support RMHC in helping families,” said team captain Kristin Hoefert-Redlinger from Northwestern Mutual.

“This year’s fundraising efforts are about more than just breaking records. They aim to show families with children in the hospital that this community truly cares. The #weekforgood is a story of women leaders, the business community and individuals rallying together to support those in need.”

The If Looks Could Kilt team worked with area businesses to add extra incentives for donations. For every $50 donated to the team, donors will be entered into a drawing to win one of six package giveaways valued at more than $4,000. Plus, anyone who donates $500 or more will receive tickets to the Kilts for Kids event at The District on Oct. 10! The team already has raised over $18,000 toward its $50,000 goal.

“Nearly all of our team’s current donors have graciously opted out of the drawing to give new supporters a chance to win,” Hoefert-Redlinger said.

“As of today, there are only 13 people in the running for these incredible prizes.”

Donors must donate directly to the If Looks Could Kilt Team to be entered into the drawing.

Festivities this coming week include:

RMHC’s 2024 Kilts for Kids teams engage in a friendly challenge to outraise their competition in the fundraiser’s 13th year. Teams have two months to collect donations. These donations provide crucial support for families staying at RMHC South Dakota during their children’s hospital treatments.
