DGR Engineering has a new president and has made other leadership changes.
Curt Dieren has been elected president of the firm, succeeding Blair Metzger. The Iowa-based firm has an office in Sioux Falls.
Dieren is the seventh president since the company was incorporated in 1965. He began his career as an electrical engineer in 1992 after graduating from South Dakota State University. He joined the board of directors in 2009 and has led the electrical power department since 2010.

“I want to thank the DGR Engineering directors and shareholders for their support in electing me to this position for the company,” Dieren said in a statement. “My objective in this new role will be to continue the long-term success in growth and progression of the firm by empowering our employees to be trusted partners for our clients in meeting their infrastructure engineering needs.”
Metzger will remain active in the electrical power department, continuing his work with clients.
“It has been a privilege to have led our company for the past 15 years,” he said. “I have been incredibly blessed during that time by the support of our staff and fellow company leaders, who have allowed me to not only provide corporate leadership, but also to remain engaged in a significant amount of client work. I look forward to continuing to engage with our many loyal clients as I transition out of my leadership role. And it will be exciting to see where the company goes under Curt’s leadership.”
Additionally, Chad Rasmussen has been named head of the electrical power department, and Troy Metzger has been selected to be assistant department head.

Metzger joined DGR Engineering in 2002 and has experience in engineering and management on a wide range of electric power projects in the region. He will continue that work along with his new administrative duties.
