The Empire Mall has issued a rare closure because of the winter weather.

It’s the latest of several business closures, including much of downtown Sioux Falls.

Both Target stores also are closed.

Some business owners who had planned to open changed their minds once they got to work and attempted to clear the snow.

Best advice: Call before you venture out anywhere, and don’t travel unless it’s critical. The city of Sioux Falls is advising no travel until conditions improve.
