A large boutique that also offers handmade merchandise is closing at The Empire Mall.

Jaber Soul Boutique has been in business for three years. It opened in its current space late last year and had a smaller spot before that.

“We will continue our online presence, pop-ups and private shopping parties,” owner Leah Hofer said in a statement. “We already have fall merchandise coming in and more on order.”

Jaber Soul’s owners do mission work in Kenya and dedicate profits to projects in the African nation.

“We will continue with those projects. Your support online will continue to go towards the projects also,” Hofer said. “Our Kenya mommas, friends, kiddos and the clinic are so grateful for all of you and your support. We are heartbroken that we are having to close the storefront, yet firmly believe that God has a plan.”

Hofer said she plans to focus on her health and her daughter, Caiti, plans to dedicate time to her young family and running her T-shirt design and printing business.

Jaber Soul’s last day will be Aug. 20 or as long as inventory lasts.
