East-side car wash expands detailing services
From staff reports
Keeping up with demand, an east-side car wash is adding a separate building to detail vehicles.
10th Street AutaWash expects to start using the new building sometime next week, said Mike Raynie, general operations manager.
The business at 3000 E. 10th St. has offered detailing services for 15 years but has been using one of the wash bays.
“Over time, that portion of business has taken off,” Raynie said.
He expects to add two or three employees to help do the work, which includes steam cleaning the engine, removing bugs and tree sap, hand-buffing the exterior, shining tires, shampooing the carpets and cloth seats or conditioning leather seats, and cleaning interior surfaces and air vents.
The full service takes four to six hours and costs $180, Raynie said. An interior-only job takes three to four hours and costs $110.
10th Street AutaWash built the 1,400-square-foot building on a portion of its parking lot. It can hold four vehicles. REM Construction Services did the work.
Growth on the east side of Sioux Falls has helped the business, Raynie said.
“The last two years have been our best years ever.”
10th Street AutaWash opened in 1993 and is owned by Brian and Bruce Eide.
