Drive-thru vaccine event offers $30 gift cards

Get a COVID-19 vaccine, drive away with a $30 gift card.
That’s what’s being offered at a pop-up vaccine event at the Empire Mall’s JCPenney entrance today through Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.
It’s a partnership between South Dakota Voices for Peace, South Dakota Urban Indian Health and the SDSU Dairy Extension.
No identification is needed. It’s the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine. The gift card can be used at any business.
Voices for Peace recently received several grants to ramp up efforts on COVID vaccine education, outreach and accessibility to multilingual, immigrant and refugee communities on the eastern half of the state, including $100,000 from the CDC and $25,000 from Made to Save. SDSU received federal funding from High Plains Intermountain Center for Agricultural Health and Safety to help boost COVID-19 vaccination efforts among South Dakota’s dairy industry workforce.
