A Dairy Queen Grill & Chill is planning to come to Tea.

According to plans submitted to the city, it will be in a new retail building at 725 N. Heritage Parkway, near the future site of a Blue Tide Car Wash.

“The site plan was reviewed and got approved,” said Kevin Nissen, planning and zoning administrator for Tea.

“The building is a pretty typical Grill & Chill, 2,332 square feet, going just north of the Ace Hardware between Get-n-Go and Ace Hardware.”

The project is still waiting to award a bid to a contractor, so there’s no additional information on timing.

It will be among a handful of Dairy Queen locations in the metro area that aren’t within the city of Sioux Falls. The others are in Canton and Dell Rapids.
