Crowd gathers for Vinyl Taco’s opening day

Jan. 31, 2019

Vinyl Taco opened today, drawing in its first lunch crowd.

The restaurant in the former Borrowed Buck Roadhouse near the Western Mall is the first Vinyl Taco in South Dakota. The ownership group has two other sites in North Dakota.

The menu is filled with a variety of Mexican street tacos, and there also are chimichangas, enchiladas, burritos and more. The bar, which dominates the room, features a full liquor license. Fans of ’70s classic rock will appreciate the restaurant’s playlist, with bartenders playing an entire side of an album before switching music.

Hours are 11 a.m. to midnight Monday through Saturday. Customers must be 21 or older.

Work is finishing up next door on the second part of the business, Vinyl Social Club. It’s set to open in mid-February and will feature a variety of games and a dance floor.
