Here’s a look at recent changes in the business landscape in the Sioux Falls area.

Eide Bailly has moved from downtown’s River Centre office building to the new Bancorp Building at the expanded Cherapa Place development. The firm occupies the fourth and fifth floors of the building at 345 S. Reid St.

EmBe is partnering with Lake Area Improvement Corporation to operate a child care center in Madison. The center, which will serve up to 140 children, is expected to open in 2025.

Hawaii Fluid Art is coming to Empire Place on 41st Street near The Empire Mall. The art studio allows customers to create their own artwork by pouring acrylic paint on a canvas. The business also will sell consignment pieces from other local makers. It’s expected to open in mid-December.

Scherer Inc., a manufacturer of grain processing solutions, has moved from the Tea industrial park to a new, 105,000-square-foot building in Foundation Park in northwest Sioux Falls.

Dollar Tree and Planet Fitness have opened in a redeveloped retail center on East 10th Street. It’s the seventh location in Sioux Falls for Dollar Tree and the second for Planet Fitness.

A new art gallery has opened on the mezzanine level of Shriver Square at 11th and Phillips. Serendipity Studio owner Jason Pfitzer said the gallery aims to provide a platform for both emerging and established artists. It also includes his photography.

In other changes at Shriver Square, Chase Bank plans to open a branch Dec. 5 on the first floor in the former Chef Dominique’s Catering & Banquet Facility and The Cookie Jar Eatery spaces. It will be the fourth location in Sioux Falls for the bank. Chef Dominique moved its office to a space on the southeast corner of the building, and The Cookie Jar has relocated to 101 S. Reid St.

Victory Ink, a microblading and permanent makeup studio, has moved into a new, expanded location downtown. The business is open along the boardwalk at The Cascade, 701 N. Phillips Ave. Owner Rachel Lemons also operates a training academy and apprentice program.

A Wisconsin-based franchisee has closed four Hardee’s locations in South Dakota, include the one at 1010 E. 10th St. The other restaurants were in Brookings, Mitchell and Watertown.

Popular online retailer Shein is coming to The Empire Mall with a pop-up shop in early December. It will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 2 and 3.

A nearly century-old gathering spot west of Colton for farm families has new owners. Restaurateurs Justin and Tina Kjellsen bought the Buffalo Trading Post from Pud and Shirley Olson, who had owned it since 1988. The restaurant at Highway 19 and 248th Street now has a liquor license, but the menu remains the same.

Casey’s General Store has opened its 10th gas station and C-store in Sioux Falls. The newest location is along 69th Street, just east of Cliff Avenue.

Voyage Federal Credit Union will have a ribbon-cutting for its new Crossroads branch at 11:30 a.m. Friday. The site at 4420 W. Crossroads Place replaces a branch that had been at 10th and Kiwanis.
