Christoffels Hair Restoration founder retires

Jan. 3, 2019

A longtime hair-restoration specialist in Sioux Falls has retired, turning over the business to his daughter.

Virg Christoffels retired Dec. 31, and his daughter, Sara Tims, who has worked alongside him for the past 20 years is the new owner of Christoffels Hair Restoration. The salon is at 3300 E. 26th St.

Christoffels started the business in 1976, working with his wife, Cherlyn, to help men, women and children in the region who were dealing with hair loss, baldness or thinning hair. Throughout the years, they kept up with advances in hair-loss prevention programs and hair-replacement solutions.

“I am pleased and content to take on this new season in life,” Christoffels said in a news release. “And I truly look forward to retirement, setting new goals and finding new opportunities to create value and fulfill my purpose in life. I’m very grateful for all our wonderful clients, and I am confident that Sara and her team will continue to deliver excellent service and care for their clients.”

Tims said she looks forward to carrying on her father’s legacy. They began discussing the transition a decade ago.

“I’ve been working by my father’s side for the past 20 years, and, frankly, I can’t image a better mentor in this industry. Together, we have developed a staff in which we are fully confident, we’ve managed the day-to-day operations of the business, consulted with our clients, discovered the best solutions and performed the appropriate treatments to ensure our clients’ complete satisfaction. By his words and actions, he has shown me the right way to run a successful business and how to treat people, and I look forward to building on the success he has achieved.”
