Chef Lance’s on Phillips has brought home the top prize for a pork dish as winner of the first Downtown Pork Showdown.

The winning dish: Pulled Pork Wellington.

The dish featured pulled pork, boursin cheese and mashed potatoes baked in a puff pastry with whiskey cream sauce.

Sixteen downtown restaurants competed during September in the culinary competition presented by Downtown Sioux Falls Inc. and Smithfield Foods.

Diners voted based on best use of pork, flavor, tenderness, presentation and customer service.
