CH Patisserie owner appears on ‘Today’

Nov. 27, 2019

CH Patisserie owner Chris Hanmer created a special macaron he says tastes like the last bite of a Thanksgiving meal for his appearance on NBC’s “Today” this morning.

The macaron features duck fat ganache with white chocolate and cranberry jam.

“I have lived and traveled many places throughout my 26-year career,” Hanmer said in a web post about his dish. “This dessert represents the love I have for the land, natural beauty and the wonderful people that have welcomed me to South Dakota.”

The macarons will be available in the downtown shop soon.

Hanmer’s appearance was part of a special “Today” segment, the United Plates of Thanksgiving, which featured dishes from chefs in every state.
