The hustle and bustle of the holiday season takes a back seat when your child is sick.
So for the past five years, the team at Luxury Auto Mall has helped play Santa for both kids and parents at Sanford Children’s Hospital.
A Cadillac Escalade “sleigh” parked in the dealership is waiting to be filled with new toys and will stay there until Dec. 7.
“Our employees as well as the public are invited to drop off new toys,” marketing manager Marina Perets said. “We provide a list from Sanford Child Life for what the kids would love because toys change, so they make a new list every year.”
Here’s a look at this year’s list:
The Luxury Auto team will drive the toys to the Sanford Children’s “castle,” where a room inside will be turned into a “shop” for parents.
“So families can go in and actually shop for their child,” Luxury Auto general manager Mike Chaplin said. “They can gift wrap it there, and a lot of times during the holidays, they just don’t have time to go take care of holiday shopping because they’re in the hospital with their child.”
Stocking the shelves has become an annual tradition the Luxury Auto team is happy to share with the community.
“We love getting to help out in this way and welcome anyone else who would like to give back to join in with us,” Perets said.
Doing some shopping this weekend? Consider adding something for these deserving kids to your list.
