Bridal boutique will move to bigger space

May 17, 2024

A Sioux Falls bridal boutique soon will close one set of doors to open another in a new space with a more personal experience.

Construction is underway for Ellie Stone Bride at The Crimson along 85th Street near Minnesota Avenue west of Walmart. The boutique will take up a large majority of the lower level retail space on the northeast corner of the building. The upper floors are apartments.

The space will feature 5,000 square feet for retail, five private dressing rooms and formalwear alteration services.

With growth on the south side of Sioux Falls, owner Kalli Blackstone wanted a more visible location to offer a modern yet welcoming experience while meeting the demand.

“In listening to my customers for the last seven years of Ellie Stone, the one thing I heard most that we don’t offer in our current space is that they want a true private experience,” Blackstone said.

“We want to cater to the modern bride and her guests so they have a memorable day.”

Dresses range in price from $1,000 to $3,500 with designers unique to the area, including Justin Alexander, Allure Bridals, Eddy K and Madi Lane.

Ellie Stone will add a curvy line to the collection and even plans to roll out a tuxedo rental service.

“We want to cater to all brides and all bodies for an all-inclusive experience,” Blackstone said.

Family is also an important part of this business.

Blackstone and her husband, Tim, named the boutique after their eldest granddaughter, Ellie.

The boutique will feature two private labels that cater to the more simple, traditional bride. One of them is called Uptown Gabby – for their younger granddaughter.

Ellie Stone offers alteration services for dresses and any formalwear whether it was purchased in the boutique or not. The new location will feature triple the space – including its own entrance for her alterations team to serve customers.

Pending the final stages of construction, Blackstone hopes to open in early July.

The existing store in Heather Ridge Village at 69th Street and Western Avenue will close after serving customers for almost seven years.

“Watching these women come in looking for their perfect dress and then seeing their expression when they say ‘yes’ is great,” Blackstone said. “Everyone remembers the day they went to find their wedding dress, and we want it to be a positive day.”

Stay connected to the boutique on Facebook and Instagram for sales and additional promotions during the transition.
