What brought you to Sioux Falls?

I have lived here my entire life: 19 years living in eastern Sioux Falls and the last 14 years in western Sioux Falls.

What keeps you in Sioux Falls?

Sioux Falls is the heart and soul of South Dakota in my opinion. It is the biggest little city in the U.S. Sioux Falls is continually changing and evolving, and makes it better and better to live here as the years go on. I met my wife, Amanda, in Sioux Falls when we worked together years ago. Most of the family is here in Sioux Falls to this day. I am a homebody, and this is what I am used to. Sioux Falls is doing amazing things, and I love being able to witness the growth and the excitement our city has to offer.

What’s your favorite thing about your job?

I love the team I have here at AB&T. I really enjoy being able to meet new people each and every day; getting to hear their stories and what brings them in is a great thing to know. I also live within a mile of our new bank location, so I do know the area well and love seeing the new places and people that are coming to the west side and being able to connect with them on how great the west side is!

How did you get connected to your industry?

I never imagined that I would be in banking to this day to be honest. I worked in restaurant management for my earlier working years. I connected with a friend that worked at a large financial institution here in Sioux Falls. Now, for the last 10 years I have been in banking, I love being with a local community bank like American Bank & Trust. My voice is heard, and my opinion matters.

Describe your workplace in three words.

Encouraging, friendly and fun.

What is something someone might be surprised to learn about you?

A little strange, but my right leg is an inch and a half longer than my left leg, and I have extremely flat feet.

What’s your favorite way to give back to your community?

I love working with kids and getting involved in things that I am passionate about. I volunteer at the Helpline Center and Feeding South Dakota. I also currently serve on our church leadership team at Sunnycrest United Methodist Church.

What’s one business you’d like to see in Sioux Falls that isn’t here now?

In-N-Out Burger; I am a huge pizza and burger lover!
