A long-awaited family entertainment center with a bowling alley, axe-throwing, arcade, restaurant and bar opens Friday in Harrisburg.

Union Social is attached to Air Madness, along Cliff Avenue on the north side of the community.

“Union Social brings an energetic and welcoming atmosphere to Harrisburg,” said Josh Anderson, director of finance and investment for the ownership group, which also owns Air Madness. “Our goal is to create a vibrant community space where people can come together to have a great time.”

The new center features 12 full-length Brunswick bowling lanes with interactive lighting, music and projection screens.

The six axe-throwing lanes feature automated scoring and projected targets.

The arcade has 50 games, all of which are card-activated. Money that’s loaded onto the card can be used for games and concessions.

Some of the games reward points that can be redeemed for prizes.

An indoor patio space called The Yard features yard games and pool tables.

Union Social’s restaurant and bar includes a full liquor license.

The menu includes appetizers, smashburgers, sandwiches, wraps, salads, flatbreads and desserts.

Other features include a mezzanine level with a corporate space that looks out over the gaming floor and can be reserved. There also are two party rooms, each of which will hold about 20 people.

Hours will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.
