A longtime manufacturer is leaving the community of Beresford.

LSC Communications LLC is closing an envelopment manufacturing operation once known as Quality Park Products in the Union County community.

An estimated 53 employees will be affected, according to notice provided to the state of South Dakota. Layoffs are expected to start April 22 and finish by July 21.

“We are committed to making the transition as smooth as possible for our employees, our customers and for the community,” the company said in a statement. “At this time, the company anticipates that all employees will be permanently separated from employment with the company during the time period between April 22 and July 21, 2022.”

The operation has been in Beresford since 1991.

LSC is a commercial printing company based in Chicago. It acquired Quality Park in 2017.
