Owner looks forward to freedom

From staff reports

An antique and vintage store on Minnesota Avenue is closing.

“After 10 years, I’m tired,” said Karla Strom, owner of Lost Marbles Antiques. “I’ve been a single owner most of time; everything is on you.”

She expects to be closed by April 7, giving her time to pack up the unsold inventory by the end of that month when her lease expires.

Merchandise in the shop at 1821 S. Minnesota Ave. is 50 percent off, and prices are negotiable. Items include jewelry, clothing, kitchen utensils, glassware, ceramic figurines, books and toys.

Strom looks forward to traveling and finally having time to plant gardens at the home she bought a year and a half ago.

While she’s ready to quit being a business owner, her passion for collecting remains.

“I grew up with it. My mom did antique shows and flea markets. I’ve been a collector for years, Strom said.
“Now I get to go antiquing for me.”
