Allegiant Air is adding a direct flight from Sioux Falls to Austin, Texas, this winter.

The flights begin Nov. 18 with service on Thursdays and Sundays, although the schedule is different during Thanksgiving week. While online booking shows flights through Feb. 13, the service will be year-round, a spokesperson said.

Allegiant offers service from the Sioux Falls Regional Airport to the Orlando, Tampa and Fort Myers areas in Florida, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Diego and the Phoenix area. Some of the routes are seasonal.

To kick off the new service, the airline is offering one-way fares to Austin for as low as $39.

“With its vibrant music and restaurant scene, Austin is an increasingly sought-after destination in our network,” said Drew Wells, Allegiant’s senior vice president of revenue and planning. “We know that Sioux Falls residents appreciate our unique brand of air travel: convenient, affordable nonstop service without the hassle of layovers or connections.”
