Downtown’s newest grocery is open — and it’s an early hit with customers.

Since Pomegranate Market opened its downtown location at Cherapa Place earlier this month, “we’ve gotten a lot of very positive feedback from customers who have come down and checked out the new location,” co-owner Jonah Snyder said. “We’ve been very grateful for the support of the Sioux Falls community.”

The locally owned grocery store, which includes a wide selection of prepared and grab-and-go foods, has enjoyed a strong lunch crowd, “who seem to really be enjoying our world bowl program in particular,” Snyder said.

“The Groove Wellness Bar with our new beverages has been a hit, and people have been talking a lot about our produce section offering one of the best and freshest selections in town.”

The hope is that residents in the area come to see Pomegranate Market as their primary grocery store, he said.

“We also want to keep educating people on parking,” Snyder added. “The most important thing to remember is you can enjoy free, covering parking right off of East Sixth Street that leads directly into our front door.”

As you’re planning your holiday meals and setting some wellness goals for the year ahead, there are countless ways Pomegranate Market can help.

For example, if you’re:

Putting the finishing touches on Christmas dinner

As a full-service grocery store, Pomegranate Market literally has everything you’d need to host Christmas dinner — or pick up any last-minute additions.

Find grass-fed beef from Svec Farm near Estelline, Iowa, or Wild Idea Buffalo, based in western South Dakota, the nation’s first regenerative organic-certified buffalo operation.

And of course, there’s plenty of fresh produce and tasty sides to accompany your meal.

Looking for a last-minute gift idea

Don’t miss Pomegranate Market’s curated gift baskets, featuring sweet treats and personal care items such as soap, lip balms and bath bombs.

The “Bloom Bar” also offers beautiful assortment of fresh seasonal bouquets and arrangements perfect for gifting.

Hosting someone with food sensitivities or specialty diets

Pomegranate Market has received a big response to its allergy-friendly selection of foods.

“Our gluten and dairy-alternative products are particularly popular,” Snyder said. “If you’re hosting someone with certain dietary needs or preferences, our team is happy to help you find what you’re looking for.”

Preparing to ring in the new year

If you’re hosting New Year’s Eve, it’s a great time to introduce your guests to Pomegranate Market’s exceptional charcuterie section.

You’ll find an outstanding selection of cheeses, meats and other accoutrements, including several local varieties and others unique in the Sioux Falls market.

“It’s everything you need to host a killer dinner party,” Snyder said.

“We have some great staff members happy to jump in and help customers decide what to purchase to craft the perfect charcuterie board.”

Seeking some easy meals for holiday break

A large grab-and-go section at Pomegranate Market is perfect for feeding your household during the busy holiday season. You’ll find foods from some of your favorite local names, or stop by the prepared foods section for a fresh, flavorful meal to go.

Taste the new offering at the downtown location’s taqueria, or create your own world bowl filled with global flavors.

Looking to get a healthier start to 2026

In addition to its whole-store emphasis on natural and organic foods, Pomegranate Market has an entire wellness section where you’ll find everything from herbal supplements and homeopathic remedies to vitamins and natural skin and hair care.

“January is the perfect time for a refresh and reset and to come explore some healthier grocery options at Pomegranate Market,” Snyder said.

“Whether you’re considering going gluten-free, vegan, keto, dairy-free or anything else, Pomegranate is the place for a fresh perspective on how to take care of your body. We’re excited to welcome in folks from around the city that are ready to embrace a healthier lifestyle, and we think they’ll be thrilled with what Pomegranate Market has to offer to their personal wellness journey.”
