Carhartt and an expanded lululemon store are open at The Empire Mall.

Carhartt fills the attached space that’s adjacent to the food court and was a longtime location for Verizon.

“We are thrilled to add Sioux Falls to our retail footprint to make Carhartt’s durable and versatile workwear easily available to the region’s thriving workforce in industries like manufacturing, agriculture and construction,” Mark Kastner, director of direct-to-consumer store strategy and experience at Carhartt, said in a statement.

“We’re excited to expand our retail presence with our first store in South Dakota and to celebrate what can be made possible through hard work – both on and off the job site.”

Carhartt’s new store is more than 4,500 square feet and is the brand’s 59th stand-alone U.S. site.

It features workwear and durable styles for men, women and children in addition to footwear and accessories.

The newly expanded lululemon store also has opened near center court.

Lululemon originally opened at the mall in 2018 and has moved from its 3,000-square-foot space to a newly combined 8,000-square-foot one nearby.

It allows more space for all inventory but especially the men’s section.

There’s also expanded space for accessories and footwear.

National retailer Perfume Palace also has opened at The Empire Mall, filling the former Journeys Kidz space.

It offers brand-name fragrances for men and women at discounted prices.
