A popular annual event that’s all about weddings returns this weekend with a new owner and extra fun additions.

The Gonna Get Wed Bridal Showcase will be from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Sioux Falls Convention Center.

It’s now owned by Michels Communications Corp., publisher of Unveiled bridal magazine.

“We have such an incredible lineup of vendors joining us for our inaugural event — many of the area’s most-preferred wedding pros, along with some amazing up-and-coming talent we can’t wait for everyone to meet,” said Jess Jervik, social media manager and administrative coordinator.

“You’ll find everything from venues, DJs, bridal and menswear shops to caterers, bakers, beauty experts, and health and wellness vendors. We’re thrilled to be welcoming participants from all across the region: the Black Hills, Pierre, Sioux City, the Sioux Falls area and even Okoboji!”

The first 250 brides through the door will receive a swag bag packed with fun surprises, and every vendor has contributed something special for giveaways throughout the day.

“Truly, everyone can benefit from attending,” Jervik said.

“We’d love to invite everyone to the show! Bring your fiance, mom, aunts, cousins, friends, your whole bridal party — the more, the merrier. It’s such a fun day to get inspired and celebrate this exciting season of life together.”

And while it’s a bridal showcase at heart, “this event is for anyone planning a celebration — whether it’s a wedding, anniversary, holiday party or any special event,” she added.

“Many of our incredible vendors offer so much more than just wedding services, so it’s a great chance to meet talented local businesses face-to-face and get inspired for whatever you’re planning next. They truly are the backbone of these events — the ones who make wedding dreams come to life — and we’re so grateful to grow and expand this long-standing brand alongside them.”

The new event owners will be celebrating with signature drinks and chocolate-covered strawberries to make the day feel extra special.

And, mark your calendar, because the next Gonna Get Wed event will be from noon to 3 p.m. Jan. 17, 2026, back at the Sioux Falls Convention Center.

“We can’t wait to celebrate all the couples who get engaged over the holidays! It’s the perfect time to start planning your wedding surrounded by the region’s best vendors, ideas and inspiration,” Jervik said.

The 2026 issue of Unveiled will be on stands before Black Friday this year, so brides can enjoy the beautiful magazine on their coffee tables over the holidays — plus, there will be plenty on hand to give out at the 2026 showcases. This year’s swag bags will include copies of the 2025 issue, giving brides a little something extra to take home and dream over as they plan their perfect day.
