Giving Back recognizes businesses and organizations that are helping our communities. Here’s a look at who’s giving back.

First International Bank & Trust

First International Bank & Trust will be accepting applications from April 2-16 for its 11th annual Live First Community Giving Campaign. The bank will give $63,000 in grants to nonprofit organizations, community groups, classroom initiatives and other causes across its footprint. Grants will range from $1,000 to $20,000. Sioux Falls-based Call to Freedom was last year’s grand prize winner in First International Bank & Trust’s Live First Community Giving Campaign.

Thorson Heating & Air Conditioning

Thorson Heating & Air Conditioning is accepting applications until May 7 for its third annual Hot Mama Giveaway. The giveaway is open to mothers facing financial struggles or medical challenges or living without proper heating or cooling. The selection committee, made up of local working moms, also considers nominees who are giving back to others despite their own hardships. Rather than focusing on the number of nominations a candidate receives, the committee looks for compelling stories that highlight a genuine need and illustrate how this giveaway could make a meaningful impact. Community members can submit nominations at thorsonheatinginc.com. The recipient will be announced on Mother’s Day, May 11.
